Sara is a filmmaker based in Crested Butte, CO.

She is the Co-Founder of the production company, The Road West Traveled, known for the award-winning ski documentary Abandoned (2018), and the all-women ski film Advice for Girls (2023).

Through her work, she attempts to tell stories that get to the heart of adventure, amplify underrepresented communities, and are different from traditional outdoor media stories. Her work prioritizes character-driven, authentic storytelling. She has experience directing, producing, shooting in hard-to-access places, all aspects of post-production, and she is a licensed drone pilot. She has worked on documentary and branded projects worldwide for brands in the outdoor industry. She currently serves on the Protect Our Winters Creative Alliance, has been a guest lecturer for the Sports Journalism and Gender course at The University of Colorado, and has sat on several film festival and event panels.

Well-versed in marketing, she came into the film world after a career in big tech, working for companies like Yahoo, Oracle, and Google where she specialized in digital marketing, giving her a deep understanding when it comes to utilizing video in global marketing campaigns.

Sara is also an experienced backcountry and big mountain skier previously competing and coaching in the Freeride World Tour Qualifiers. Her athletic chops allow her to follow professional athletes and adventurers wherever the story may lead.
